San Diego to Cabo San Lucas with the Baja-haha
On October 30th, 2006, we cast off from our slip in San Diego, clustered around the starting line with 150 other boats, then raced South out of the US and into Mexican waters. It was the beginning of our two-week journey down the Baja peninsula with the Latitude 38-sponsored Baja-Haha cruiser's rally / race.
We organized the ship's log day by day. The rally consists of three legs (two intermediate stops) and was a ton of fun.
- Day 1: San Diego to Turtle Bay, Baja-Haha start
- Day 2: San Diego to Turtle Bay, light winds
- Day 3: San Diego to Turtle Bay, strong winds, big waves
- Day 4: Arrival at Turtle Bay
- Day 5: Anchored at Turtle Bay, baja-haha potluck party
- Day 6: Turtle Bay to Bahia Santa Maria, start
- Day 7: Turtle Bay to Bahia Santa Maria, Sara's birthday!
- Day 8: Arrival at Bahia Santa Maria, we had to motor
- Day 9: Anchor failure, beach party and hiking
