We got married!

Sara and I were married December 18, 2006 on a beach in beautiful Bucerias, Mexico!

Origin story

We met in mid-April 2002 in a coffee shop called A'Roma Roasters in Santa Rosa, California. I had just moved to the US from Ottawa, Canada, a few weeks earlier. Sara had been there for six months as a member of AmeriCorps, the domestic peace corps.

I was there with my roommate, Jed, who is the drummer of Five AM. Sara and her friends came to watch the show. It was hard to miss the pack of cute girls who followed us to the after party.

We hung out and talked but I wasn't brave enough to ask Sara for her number, so I wrote mine on a peice of paper and handed it into the middle of Sara's circle of friends. What a wuss. Alicia, one of her friends, took the note. Disaster? No, Alicia was one of Sara’s roomates and was interested in Jed.

We all met for an epic hike the next day. Sara and I spent most of the time talking. We went out on our first date to Viansa Winery the following week. The rest is history!
