Monterey to Loch Lomond Marina in San Francisco, easy overnight with Amy, passing under the Golden Gate bridge, returning to the same slip at Loch Lomond
When heading south we did all our coastal hops in the daylight, but going back north we chose to sail overnights as much as possible. It's harder to push off a comfy pier after dinner, but the lighter overnight winds and reduced waves are worth it.
This was our last passage on Wanderlust!
Our overnight was easy: lots of light from the moon, calm weather, and not much other traffic. I took a double-length watch and let the girls sleep. First light was off Half-Moon Bay, our first stop what seemed like forever ago, and we had perfect sailing right under the Golden Gate bridge.

Sailing to the Golden Gate
We were back! The bay, which once seemed so large and scary, was much much smaller than we remembered. We were under the bridge half an hour after first sighting it.

We had lunch off Sausalito and were back in Loch Lomond before 1pm. We pulled back into the same slip we had left in October. Surreal.
