Sitch family reunion - Sitchfest

One of the reasons for our UK trip was Sitchfest, a get-together for the four children, 10 grand-children, and more than 15 great-grandchildren, plus spouses and partners, of my grandparents Edward (Ted) and Helen. We had the meetup at the Harlow Rugby Club, the site of which is within a 15-mile radius of where Sitches have been documented to live for the last 400 years!

400 years?

The earliest recorded location of Sitch was a home in Blackmore UK purchased by Xpopher Sache (married to Alice Wealde) in 1604; they had nine children.

Sitch family tree

Sitches then lived in Blackmore, Lambourne, Abridge, Walthamstow, and Harlow. My dad, John Sitch, was born in Harlow UK ~350 years later. Harlow is only 13 miles from Blackmore!

Interesting factoid: - Thomas SICHE born 1692 had 10 children, including: - Ann SACH born 1716 - John SETCH born 1720 - Joseph SETCH born 1722 - Benjamin SETCH born 1726 - William SITCH born 1728 - Joseph SETCH born 1731 - William SYTCH born 1734

My parents, John and Ann Sitch, named their three kids Joseph, Benjamin, and William. Unclear if this SICHE family had a hand in our names, or if this was luck.
