Sitch family reunion - Menorca

After Sitchfest, John and Ben + Allie + Florence + Rosie + Eddie headed back home to Canada, but Joe + Sarah + Ethan + Hannah and our family headed to the Spanish island of Menorca for a little R+R, plus to sail Cousin Richard's boat, Cumulus.

EasyJet

Everyone knows EasyJet hates their customers. Some EasyJet employees enjoy the "fit your luggage into the small measuring device" torture more than others. We got that guy.

I wish there were photos. I repacked all the bags and made everything fit, it just took 40 unnecessary minutes and was the most annoying thing ever.

Menorca

Menorca is a small island (smaller than neighbouring Mallorca) in the Mediterranean Sea. We weren't planning on visiting until Richard told us about his boat, so this part of the trip came together quickly.

We AirBnb'd a big house with a pool, right on the edge of a nature preserve.

We spent a day on Cumulus, Richard and Stephanie's Benetau they keep in Menorca!

We sailed to Arenal Son Saura and anchored in 3m of crystal clear water.

Docking back at Puerto Addaia was .. interesting. Med mooring means backing into the dock with boats on either side. However, Cumulus has so much prop walk I had to start hundreds of metres away so I had a chance of getting the boat under control. Once we were moving in the right direction it was fine, but if it wasn't for Joe and the Sara(h)s helping to fend off other boats it would have been a bad experience.
