1/2 done! My sixth quarter at UC Davis' Bay Area Working Professional MBA Program

Halfway there. A year and a half down, a year and a half to go. How do I feel about it? Mixed emotions.

Business school is challenging, and attending part-time while working full-time is even tougher. Don't get me wrong, each assignment is reasonable and the tests and exams aren't too difficult, it's the cumulative effect of case studies and textbooks and textpacks and optional (read: not optional) readings and group projects and homework and tests and quizzes and exams.

1/3 done! My fourth quarter (first year) at UC Davis’ Bay Area Working Professional MBA program

It's now September, which means I've finished my fourth quarter - and my first year - at the UC Davis Working Professional (weekend) MBA program. It's been incredibly interesting and rewarding, and also a lot of fun, but let me tell you how much I've enjoyed a full month off!

During the Summer 2009 quarter I took two classes: Forecasting and Managerial Research Methods, and Product Management.

1/4 done! My third quarter at UC Davis’ Bay Area Working Professional MBA program

January 2009 brought the third quarter of UC Davis' WP-MBA program. This is the last quarter of non-elective 'core' classes our group will take together, after which we will theoretically go our own way and choose classes based on our own unique interests. We all took Marketing Management and Corporate Finance.

Short notes: Christian V came back to join the cool kids in the slacker class schedule (harder course taken later in the evening). He reports that the Others do indeed suck. We went to Vegas (my first time) in May. Coursework was really overwhelming, it was tough to keep up. I lost my 4.0 GPA with an A- in Corporate Finance. I'm a little bummed.

Next quarter I'm taking Statistics 2 with Rahman Azari and Product Management with Britta Foster, followed by almost four weeks off in September! It'll be nice to get a break.
