Racing the YRA Southern Cross on Wayne's Quest 33
I joined skipper Wayne and crew of Rene, Gus, and Matt for the YRA's Southern Cross race, which was originally scheduled to be out to the Farallones. I guess the race committee saw the weather forecast and changed the race; good call.
Race 5 of the YRA Inter Club series on Chris' F-27
John and I joined Chris on his F-27 for the 5th race of the YRA Inter Club series. It was in the southbay, it was windy, and it was wet.
Parents visiting for a week
My parents visited for a week; we sent them on a three-day sailing class to get their ASA Basic Keelboat certification. Bekks was a bit afraid of the waves, but overcame her fear and is now known as "Capt. Bekks".

Racing the YRA Second-Half Opener on Chris' F-27
Sara and I joined Chris on his F-27 to race the YRA's Second-Half Opener race, from Berkeley to Point Bonita and back down the estuary.
Friday night beer-can racing on John's FT10
Sara and I joined John and company for another friday night beer-can race aboard his FT10. We had a great start, were right behind the leaders going into the spinnaker run, and saw top speeds above 15kts downwind!
Pacific Cup big boat start
Sara and I went down to the St. Francis Yacht Club for the Pacific Cup final start - the big boats! StFYC is very impressive. We went up to the observation deck and watched the 50-70 footers tack back and forth before the start.
Double-handed Pacific Cup start!
I scootered down to the St. Francis Yacht Club on the San Francisco Bay, CA at lunch to catch the 2nd double-handed start of the Pacific Cup. This start is the small ULDB boats, Moore 24s, Olsons, and Dylan's custom Dogpatch 26 "Moonshine".
4th of July fireworks over Swimmer's Cove in San Francisco
Sara and I watched the fireworks over Swimmer's Cove in San Francisco. It was very foggy and totally surreal to have the night sky glowing different colours.
