My second Olympic-length triathlon of the season was the Silicon Valley International Triathlon held at San Jose's Lake Almaden. Teammate Bingels and I did the Olympic-length tri on Sunday after his wife Jingels did her first sprint triathlon the day before. I had an okay swim, fast bike, and started the run with stomach cramps. I ended up finishing 11 minutes shy of my 2:30 goal. Bummer dude.
My next race is USA Productions' Olympic length Silicon Valley International Triathlon on June 13. Olympic length courses consist of a 0.93mi swim, 24.9mi bike, and 6.2mi run.
A month before the race I tore my soleus and a week before the race I came down with a pretty nasty head cold. All my preparation was going down the tubes! I pulled it together though and had an awesome race on the Olympic course at the 2010 Avia Wildflower Triathlon!
Ed Sheffield and I ran the 2010 Sonoma County Human Race, a 10k race through Howarth Park (aka Spring Lake), over to Summerfield, ending at Herbert Slater Middle School.
The numbers: Race: Sonoma County Human Race Course: Spring Lake 10k (6.2mi) run Result: 46:12, 79/749 racers (90th percentile), 15th/71 in age group Pace: 7:26/mile

I guess I have the pig hunting sickness. What started as a fun hobby almost killed me and two friends this past weekend. What sucks is that I'm not deterred. If anything I am more determined to stalk and kill a wild pig on public land.
I'm determined to stalk and kill a wild pig on public land. Judging by the pig tag return data, I'm probably not going to be successful. Too bad I'm stubborn.
A colleague and good friend from work, Jeff Meyer, made me a bet that I wouldn't actually find and kill a pig. The terms of the bet were that he would cook the pig and provide the beer for everyone at Centellax to enjoy. I'm not sure what I was supposed to do if I didn't get a pig, but, well, it didn't matter, did it?
Halfway there. A year and a half down, a year and a half to go. How do I feel about it? Mixed emotions.
Business school is challenging, and attending part-time while working full-time is even tougher. Don't get me wrong, each assignment is reasonable and the tests and exams aren't too difficult, it's the cumulative effect of case studies and textbooks and textpacks and optional (read: not optional) readings and group projects and homework and tests and quizzes and exams.
